Custom injection molder Laszeray Technology LLC is investing more than $5 million to expand its molding and tool-building capacities and floor space.
The North Royalton, Ohio, firm said it added 25,000 square feet of space in November, bringing its area up to 62,000 square feet. At about that time it added three Wittmann Battenfeld injection molding cells and additional Haas high-speed, 5-axis CNC milling centers.
This year it is adding three more Wittmann Battenfeld injection presses, expanding its tonnage range up to 720 tons. The firm will have 17 presses when the expansion is done, with clamping forces starting at 65 tons. It also boasts two-shot capability.
The company said its full-service tooling operation has grown to 16 Haas CNC and Mitsubishi wire EDM centers that can handle complex machining requirements.
Laszeray was founded in 1995. Its services include design, rapid prototyping, pad printing and assembly. Key markets include food preparation equipment, commercial, consumer, medical, aerospace, military and recreational vehicles.
The firm's management and an undisclosed investor recapitalized Laszeray late last year. Western Reserve Partners LLC acted as investment banker for the transaction.
Officials declined to provide more specifics on the expansion.
