A Missouri design and mold making company has launched a new on-line effort to promote the American plastics industry.
More than a dozen other firms have already joined in R&D/Leverage's effort at the site supportplasticsusa.com, said Robert Schiavone, global marketing director for the company based in Lee's Summit, Mo., in a July 2 news release.
The site will provide a unified voice for molders, mold makers and designers, which will help to draw more attention to American firms, he said. It also provides links to news about American molding and re-shoring efforts.
“We are tearing down the walls separating customers and competitors and creating a joint effort to share the news of what we do in the U.S.,” he said.
There are other organizations which promise American-made products, Schiavone noted, but supportplasticsusa is the only one focused solely on the plastics industry.
The site also is intended to shine a light on U.S.-based manufacturing that will help lure young workers, he said.
