Henkel Corp.'s automotive group and longtime partner, Cavist Corp. in Reno, Nev., now can do local prototyping for low-pressure injection molding at Henkel's automotive headquarters in Madison Heights, Mich.
Low-pressure injection molding can prevent damage to delicate electronic and electrical automotive components. Henkel claims to have achieved that with a low-viscosity Technomelt adhesive.
“Henkel has achieved injection molding pressures as low as 1.8 bar [25 pounds per square inch],” said Jeff Koehler, Henkel's business development manager. “Low pressure is key to ensuring fragile electronic components are kept intact.”
