Closure maker Global Closure Systems is continuing to increase its global footprint by expanding its plant in Manila, the Philippines, by 20 percent.
The expansion is part of a "vast expansion program which is taking place in all the regions where the group operates", spokesperson Gladys Micolon de Guerines told European Plastics News.
The plant now measures 2,500 square meters, including a new production area with new assembly and injection molding machines.
In the Philippines, GCS produces plastic closures and dispensing systems, and its main customers in the region are Coca-Cola, Cosmetique Asia, PepsiCo, Green Cross, Johnson & Johnson, Splash and Unilever, said de Guerines.
The company did not disclose any financial details but says GCS is a major player in the Asian closure markets, thanks to its plants in China and Thailand, as well as the Philippines.
