U.S.-based cosmetics packaging firm Topline Products has opened an injection molding, toolmaking and decoration facility in Tianjin, China, the company announced Sept. 13.
Topline, based in Wayne, N.J., said the 270,000 square foot facility also is designed to produce components for the automotive, electronics and medical industries, and is part of its plan to significantly expand its global footprint.
“The Tianjin facility offers a cost competitive location to serve not only the Asian market but also customers in Europe, North and South America,” said Topline President Charles Chang, in a statement. “The plant overall offers ample room for growth and expansion. Our company roots lie in packaging and our objective is to grow this plant into a world class manufacturing facility.”
The new facility employs 400 people and opened in 2012, the company said.
Tianjin Topline manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Mexico and its Xia Fei Cosmetics operation in China, and gives the company a total of 600,000 square feet of production and warehouse space and 1,000 employees globally, it said.
According to Topline's website, the firm has five facilities in China, including Tianjin. It added the Mexico and Michigan facilities in 2010.
The new plant also includes complete cosmetic brush making operations and decoration capabilities for hot stamping, silk screening, pad printing, and in-mold labeling, Topline said.
Topline said it has annual sales of more than $100 million.
