KraussMaffei Berstorff of Munich has sold pipe extrusion lines to make sewer pipes in Egypt and Brazil.
Hamza Industry Co. of Cairo, Egypt, has purchased a KrauffMaffei Berstroff direct extrusion line to produce highly filled, three-layer sewage pipes from polypropylene.
Hanmza ordered a KMG 81-40/R co-rotating twin-screw extruder as the main extruder for the filled middle layer, a KME 38-30 B/R coextruder for the thin internal and external layers, and a KM-RKW 73 three-layer pipehead and downstream units for calibration and cooling.
Direct extrusion combines compounding and extrusion processing in a single step.
In Brazil, Krona Tubos e Conexoes SA has ordered an extruder/pipe head combination from KraussMaffei Berstorff, for its plant in Joinville, for sewer pipe extrusion.
