Wilmington Machinery has expanded its models of rotary extrusion blow molding machines for small, single-serve bottles to include dual parison, three-layer capabilities for bottles ranging from 60-500 ml. Applications include juices, foods and milk and other dairy products.
Production speeds range from 70-500 million units per year from one machine.
Wilmington's SB systems have been running dual parison monolayer and single parison six layers for several years. The market has asked for machines to run new materials, and combinations of materials for cost savings and enhance the bottles.
According to the company in Wilmington, N.C., the rotary technology reduces material cost, saves energy thanks to the all electro-mechanical machine, uses less floor space and cuts labor costs because it only requires a single operator.
