Invista has expanded its Xpure line of polyesters based on a new generation catalyst system.
Xpure 7001 is an amorphous resin and 701K is a precrystallized polymer. Both feature melting point of about 435° F, about 86° F lower than standard PET.
Invista envisions applications in packaging films and biocomponent fibers. Food contact approvals and confirmations are available on request.
“Customers reported a wider processing window vs standard polyesters, allowing the manufacture of non-standard products such as thick transparent films,” states Achim Heyer, European business director for polymers.
Invista's Hattersheim, Germany, office announced the new grades, email [email protected]; its U.S. office is in Wichita, Kan., tel. 877-446-8478 or 770-792-4221.
