Injection molder North American Lighting Inc. will expand its sales and engineering office near Detroit, creating 76 new jobs.
North American Lighting, a Paris, Ill.-based subsidiary of Japan's Koito Manufacturing Co. Ltd., has had a sales and engineering presence near Detroit since 1983, but the company is now ready to move into a larger leased facility in Farmington Hills, which will give it greater access to customers.
The automotive lighting supplier has been growing in the U.S., including expanded production in Muscle Shoals, Ala. The Michigan Economic Development Corp. said in a Dec. 19 press release that the Farmington Hills site beat out competing locations in Illinois and Alabama.
North American Lighting will receive a $300,000 performance-based grant in connection with its increased employment, state officials said.
