Robot manufacturer Sepro Robotique (SR) has claimed 2013 will be the most successful year in the company's 40-year history.
Based in La Roche-sur-Yon, France, SR said it had sold 1,650 robots and sprue pickers around the world in the last 12 months, a rise of 26 percent over last year.
The strength of the global plastics market played its part, admitted Michel Renaudeau, SR's chief executive, but other factors also came into play.
“Over the last five years we have invested heavily in the development of new robot technology, expanding our presence in key global markets, and building strong partnerships with automation specialists and injection-molding machine manufacturers,” he said.
SR said it had increased its sales outside Europe by nearly 50 percent in the last five years, with North America now the company's largest market.
