Velox GmbH has added another anti-shrinking agent to its selective laser sintering materials.
Coathylene SB0426-R is a polystyrene powder grade specially developed for SLS, according to the Hamburg, Germany, firm. In general, Coathylene materials were originally developed as anti-shrink aids for hot curing of composites.
Velox distributes Coathylene materials made by Axalta Polymer Powders Switzerand sarl, formerly the DuPont Polymer Powders Switzerland sarl business, which became part of Carlyle Group in early 2013. Axalta specializes in producing ultra-fine thermoplastic powders. It claims its proprietary precipitation and micronization technologies are compatible with a wide range of polymers and allow selection of product functionalities and particle-size distribution.
Velox markets and distributes specialties for plastics, composites, rubber, paints, inks and coatings.
