Equipment manufacturer Milacron LLC plans to open a high-impact technical center in Irvine, Calif., and welcome visitors during open-house hours Feb. 10-12.
Milacron will demonstrate three injection molding presses at the leased 17,000-square-foot center.
• A Magna T 55-model toggle press with an energy-efficient servo motor and Endura touch control will mold a four-inch disc incorporating an in-mold labeling component.
• A Roboshot 165-model with an E-Multi hot runner and Fanuc 31iB control will mold a two-component poker chip.
• And an all-electric 400-ton Elektron press with a new global guard format, Endura touch control, a greaseless part drop area and the absence of hydraulic oil will mold a plastic dinner plate.
In addition, Milacron will offer presentations regarding its DME Inc. mold component business, available Milacron aftermarket offerings and support capabilities and trends and challenges in medical marketing.
The Batavia, Ohio-based privately held limited liability company employs about 4,100 and has business segments for plastics processing machinery, Mold-Masters hot runner and process control systems, DME technologies, aftermarket services and Cimcool fluid technology.

The Milacron activities partially overlap the UPM Canon trade events occurring Feb. 10-13 at the convention center in nearby Anaheim, Calif.
