Schneider Electric SA, the big French maker of energy management and electrical distribution systems, has purchased Invensys plc, the London-based conglomerate with holdings in process automation technologies — including Eurotherm Inc., a supplier of controls for plastics machinery.
Schneider Electric, of Rueil-Malmaison, announced Jan. 17 that it has completed the deal. The combined operation creates a giant business that serves industrial and energy infrastructure end markets, company officials said.
