England's Petainer has opened a site in Russia producing PET beer kegs and water cooler bottles for the local market.
The factory, which is located 40 miles from Moscow in Klin, is capable of manufacturing 700 kegs per hour up to a maximum keg size of 50 kilograms.
The facility is currently supplying 20 and 30-liter PetainerKegs to customers in Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine using a side blow molding machine.
"Russia is a very important market and our Klin factory will enable us to tap into the rapid growth opportunities in this part of the world," said Annemieke Hartman-Jemmett, strategy director for Petainer in a Jan. 28 news release.
The Peterborough-based company is taking part in at UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2014, a packaging trade show in Moscow to help introduce its products to the Russian market.
