Witte Co. of Washington, N.J., now offers remote monitoring and control of its equipment, including vibrating fluid-bed dryers, coolers, pellet classifiers and conveyors.
Remote desktop capability uses a dedicated plc-based control interface. That lets process engineers start and stop batch and continuous operations, adjust parameters and check conditions such as air temperature, airstream velocity and retention time, all in real-time while they are away from the processing line.
Witte said remote monitoring is idea for plastics, chemical and other processors that run multiple plants worldwide, those that operate in controlled environments.
