Compounder Manner Plastics LP is adding its seventh line and is changing its name to Manner Polymers Corp. to better reflect what it does, according to company President Raj Bhargava.
“We were light on capacity and we are seeing growth in automotive and construction, so we are very fortunate,” Bhargava said in a telephone interview.
He said the McKinney, Texas, company deals in flexible PVC compounds and wanted to illustrate that it does work with polymers with the new name, which took effect Jan. 1. The decision also was due to changes made in the Texas Franchise Law. There is no change in ownership or management.
Bhargava said the new line will be ready in the first quarter of 2014. Manner added another line last year, plus 30,000 square feet of warehouse space and 3,500 square feet of office space.
The company's sales have grown 50 percent in the past two years, according to Bhargava, who noted that the private company does not release sales figures.
Manner, which was founded in 2000, currently has 55 employees at its 85,000-square-foot facility. Besides automotive and construction, it supplies compounds to electrical, industrial, telecommunications, agriculture and consumer goods customers.
The company also is updating its website, www.mannerpolymers.com.
