CINCINNATI — Gardner Business Media, the Cincinnati-based publisher of Plastics Technology magazine, has purchased the annual Molding Conference from Executive Conference Management.
Amos Golovoy, a former engineer at Ford Motor Co. who started the Molding Conference 24 years ago, will continue his involvement with the event. It had been owned by ECM in Plymouth, Mich.
Molding ‘14 will be held March 2-5 in Newport Beach, Calif. Gardner will assume officially ownership of the annual conference beginning in 2015.
Terms were not disclosed. Gardner announced the deal Feb. 11.
Golovoy describes the annual conference as a “unique event organized by a volunteer committee of all branches of the industry, including molders, mold makers, materials suppliers and the trade press. Matthew Naitove, Plastics Technology's executive editor, has served on the organizing committee for the last three years, and the magazine gives promotional support to the conference.
“Gardner Business Media and Plastics Technology magazine supported the Molding Conference from its beginning, and I am convinced that they have a strong commitment to make the Molding Conference the ‘must attend' yearly event for injection molders worldwide,” Golovoy said.
The family owned Gardner was founded in 1928, with the launch of Modern Machine Shop magazine.
