Magna Interior Trim Components, a subsidiary of Aurora, Ontario-based Magna International Inc., will invest $3.6 million to expand its operations at two locations in Michigan.
The expansion comes after the automotive supplier acquired two new contracts to supply door trim molded parts and sub components, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced Feb. 12. Magna declined further comment.
The company plans to add a total of 274 jobs to its locations in China Township and Benzonia Township, the MEDC release indicates. Magna acquired the facilities in 2010 with its purchase of injection molder Continental Plastics Co.
Magna will receive an $822,000 performance-based grant from the state. Both China Township and Benzonia Townships have offered property tax abatements to help finance the expansion.
