England's Daly Plastics, near Bolton, has been devastated by a fire. More than 40 firefighters from Bolton, Chorley, Atherton and Farnworth fire stations tackled the blaze at its height.
Daly Plastics, a small family run plastic compounding company with two extruders, had been looking to expand operations at the time of the fire. The incident was reported by staff working a night shift who noticed smoke coming from a part of the site that contained wooden pallets.
Bolton fire station manager, Wayne Guffogg, said, "firefighters worked hard to contain the fire to the building involved and stop it spreading to neighboring businesses.
"We worked with local businesses to re-open the roads on the industrial estate and allow workers to go about their day to day business."
"We are devastated," Daly Plastics Director Simon Daly told local media. "It's a family business and it's going to be four to six weeks before we can reopen. It has just knocked me for six but I'm glad that no one was injured or killed."
