AmeriLam Supply Group has introduced a fine linen-mimicking film to its line of film laminates for the print and packaging industry.
Luxe FineLinen is a 24-micron polypropylene film with an embossed pattern that simulates the texture of European linen, according to the Knoxville, Tenn., company. The close grain pattern provides a matte finish with an Old World aesthetic, AmeriLam says.
As a thermal laminating film, the new product is easily applied using standard one-sided laminating equipment, claims AmeriLam. The film has a strong surface texture and is scuff- and scratch-resistant, AmeriLam says. It can be foil-stamped, varnished, glued and embossed.
AmeriLam aims the new film at binders, book covers, folding cartons, business cards and other printed goods. It allows color clarity and retention, says AmeriLam.
AmeriLam stated Luxe FineLinen will be commercially released on April 1. AmeriLam marketing manager Leah Rochat said her firm produces and converts specialty laminate films, especially thermal films, and sources from offshore suppliers.
