Windmöller & Hölscher KG, the German manufacturer of blown and cast film and printing presses, has set up a subsidiary in China to handle sales, spare parts and service along with maintenance and repair.
W&H said the subsidiary, Windmoeller & Hoelscher Machinery (Taicang) Co. Ltd., is in Taicang, about 30 miles from Shanghai.
In the future, the operation also will offer die-head service and customer training.
W&H officials will officially open the Chinese facility at the upcoming Chinaplas trade show in Shanghai.
W&H Machinery (Taicang) will assume all activities that had been handled by Johs. Rieckermann, which had been the machinery maker's Chinese agent. The Rieckermann staff will remain with the new subsidiary, to ensure continuity for customers in China.
The management board is: Jinghui Dai, general manager; Klaus Meyer, sales manager; and George Yang, service manager. All of them have experience in the Chinese market, W&H said.
