Automotive supplier ZF Friedrichshafen said about 200 new jobs will be provided at its Czech ZF development location in Pilsen, Czech Republic, by 2017.
The company, based in Friedrichshafen, Germany, has started construction on a seven-story office building. The total floor space will exceed 37,000 square feet and the investment will be about $5.5 million.
ZF took over the existing location in Pilsen from an independent engineering service provider in 2007. As one of eight main development locations, it now offers development and testing services for the group and its divisions.
The wide scope of services and the increased number of orders, particularly from German ZF locations, have resulted in the work force expansion. “The number of employees has quadrupled. Since the location's integration, it has grown from 50 to more than 200 employees today,” said location manager Robert Ingenbleek.
The building is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, when the first 70 development employees will move into the new offices.
