Instron, the supplier of testing instruments, said its CEAST MF30 melt flow tester gives accurate measurement of the flow properties of plastics according to ASTM D1238 and ISO 1133 standards — including the new ISO 1133-2 for material sensitive to time-and-temperature history and/or moisture.
A standard feature of the MF30 is a high-resolution load cell for controlled compacting of the material before the test starts. Also standard is a high-precision encoder, which permits the controlled extrusion of the melt to a defined height.
Instron is based in Norwood, Mass.
