Quality Vision International Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., has purchased ShapeGrabber Inc., a maker of automated three-dimensional scanners, in a deal announced April 2.
Terms were not disclosed.
QVI claims to be the world's largest vision metrology company. Its product line includes dimensional measuring machines that combine optical, laser and contact sensors. Founded in 1945, QVI has supplied systems to manufacturers in more than 75 countries.
ShapeGrabber makes 3D laser scanners for measuring and inspecting parts with complex shapes. The scanners are used for quality control for industries such as automotive, aerospace and medical. ShapeGrabber is based in Ottawa, Canada.
