SHANGHAI — Shanghai feeder manufacturer Shanghai Sonner Machinery Co. Ltd.'s Chinaplas booth was overrun with visitors checking out the company's products, the M250 computerized closed-loop control device and the ST11/SS23 loss-in-weight micro feeder.
“A lot of customers from different countries are interested in our machines,” reported general manager Peng Pai. “Especially on the first day, my sales [team] told me we got a lot of potential customers, mostly foreign.”
The company is continuing work on a factory relocation and expansion. “Moving a factory is not like moving an apartment,” Peng said, explaining that the company is finishing up design work before the factory goes operational in 2015.
The factory will remain in the Songjiang district of Shanghai, where the current factory is located. The company will hire an additional five to 10 employees.
Peng spoke to Plastics News about the company's greater vision. “In the next 5-10 years we want to be an international company. We have plans to expand. We opened our India office two years ago and our USA office one year ago. Maybe next year we'll open up Europe office.”
He said he has high hopes for this year. “Last year we improved 20 percent on revenue. It wasn't as good as two years ago when we improved 80 percent. But all the companies didn't do so good last year,” he said. “This year is very good at least for the first quarter,” he continued. “I think this year we can finish like two years ago.”
