Lehigh Technologies Inc., an Atlanta-based specialty materials company that produces rubber powder, has launched a dedicated polyurethane technical team.
Lehigh Technologies has named Rick Speas as technical manager for polyurethanes. Speas, a 30-year industry veteran, will lead a PU application development team at the company's application and development center.
“The global polyurethane market is expected to grow significantly over the next five years, and Lehigh's MRP is ideally suited to meet the industry's needs,” said Lehigh CEO Alan Barton. “More than 70 million PU components have already been manufactured using Lehigh's MRP, and this latest addition to the technical team enables us to drive further adoption of lower-cost, sustainable, high-performance MRPs into these applications.”
Speas has experience with major PU manufacturers, including Tempur-Sealy, Rubberlite, Uniroyal and Foamex.
Speas will be responsible for building and operating Lehigh's polyurethane laboratory.
