Sidel has shipped a giant Combi blow molding machine — the biggest Combi ever built for carbonated soft drinks, with 20 blow molding stations, 162 flowmeter filling valves and 18 capping heads — to Argentinian beverage producer, Refres Now.
Sidel said Refres Now will reduce energy consumption by 17 percent with the new production equipment, installed at the company's bottling plant in La Matanza, Argentina. The investment will make family pack sizes, which Sidel said is in great demand in Argentina.
The La Matanza plant, in the Buenos Aries province, is one of the world's largest soft drink production facilities, bottling more than 3.5 million liters a day.
Refres Now began using Sidel equipment in 2005, when the company was founded.
The recently installed line includes a Sidel Combi Eurotronica Fmc and a Sidel Starblend mixer. It is producing 30,000 bottles per hour for two-and-a-half liter soft drink bottles.
Sidel is based in Hünenberg, Switzerland. Sidel Inc. is in Norcross, Ga.
