StackTeck Systems Inc., which makes molds for packaging and food service in Brampton, Ontario, has invested in new metal cutting equipment to boost production capacity and improve lead times.
StackTeck recently bought a large plate machining line, which has grinding capacity of 1-meter-by-2-meters. The company added a Netstal Elion 4200 for mold testing.
“In our manufacturing facility, we have doubled our hard milling capacity in the last three years, and we have high-speed specialized machines that are capable of reaching up to 42,000 rpm spindle speed,” said Lou Dimaulo, StackTech's vice president.
StackTeck also added a weekend shift, to avoid increasing lead times even while order intake has been climbing.
