Toray Plastics (America) Inc. has a new leader who isn't new to the company at all.
With the retirement of Richard Schloesser, Michael Brandmeier becomes president and CEO of the North Kingston, R.I., film maker.
Brandmeier was executive vice president and chief operating officer prior to his July 1 promotion and worked “side by side” with Schloesser for nearly 20 years, the company said.
“Rick leaves us with a solid foundation of management tools and a rich legacy of commitment to growth, sustainability, and profitability,” Brandmeier said.
And the former CEO had this to say about the new CEO: "As I leave Toray I know it is in excellent hands with Mike. He's done an outstanding job during his 19-year tenure with Toray and I am confident that he is the right person to lead Toray into the next stage of the company's journey to even greater value."
Toray Plastics (America) makes precision-performance polypropylene, polyester, bio-based and metallized films for packaging and industrial applications.
