Evco Plastics Inc., a custom injection molder based in DeForest, Wis., has added a Romer coordinate measuring machine laser scanning arm to its metrology laboratory.
The technology will enable Evco to give customers improved speed and efficiency in collecting information for part layouts, and greater precision for creating plastic parts.
The Romer arm uses an integrated laser scanning system capable of scans at a rate of 50,000 points per second, creating a three-dimensional point cloud on the surface of a part, to compare it to a 3-D model.
