The Society of Plastics Engineers has retained Gros Executive Recruiters to help recruit a new managing director.
The new managing director will combine the tasks of the current managing director, Gail Bristol, and the commercial director, work done by Tom Conklin, director of marketing and sales. Both are retiring soon.
Bristol, a 32-year SPE staff veteran, is retiring at the end of August.
SPE headquarters is moving from Newtown, Conn., about five miles away to Bethel, Conn., in the next few weeks. The new managing director will be based at the Bethel office, and will focus on the North American operations of SPE, reporting to SPE's international CEO, Willem De Vos.
“The new managing director will play a key role in SPE's strategy of reaching out more effectively to a vast North American audience of young industry people who stand to benefit from what our organization has to offer,” De Vos said. “SPE's operations have been improved substantially over the last year, but more investments in new technologies are needed in the coming period.”
Dennis Gros, president of the employee recruitment firm in Franklin, Tenn., SPE has directed him to find people “with a track record of success in a commercial aspect of the plastics industry.
