The Composites Group has a new family of high-performance, ultraviolet-resistant and flame-retardant thermoset sheet molding compounds.
The Highland Heights, Ohio, company says its PremierUV family of materials is well suited to electrical and outdoor applications such as enclosures, lighting housings and warning tiles.
Two grades are now available with more due in autumn, according to Marc Imbrogno, director of market/product development. PremierUV VSH-25S and VLH-25S are glass fiber-reinforced compounds with non-halogen flame retardance.
The firm claims they have high color retention and resist chalking and glass bloom. They can accommodate a range of pigments.
