Magna International Inc. plans to nearly double the size of its manufacturing facility in Trnava, in western Slovakia, to accommodate new automotive interiors business.
The Aurora, Ontario-headquartered auto supplier will expand the facility from around 93,650 square feet to more than 166,840 square feet, Magna announced July 28.
The Trnava plant, which opened in 2006, produces interior parts including door panels, instrument panels and armrests, according to a company news release. The facility employs 400.
Magna operates three manufacturing and assembly plants in Slovakia, with a total of 975 employees, according to its website. Its European operations are based in Vienna, Austria.
