A couple of packaging companies are settling their patent fight over film-foam underlayment.
Pregis Corp. and Sealed Air Corp. have struck an out-of-court settlement regarding the dispute, Pregis said in a statement.
Sealed Air, of Elmwood Park, N.J., now has a “non-exclusive license,” Pregis said, covering three patents concerning laminate film-foam underlayment.
Both companies also have withdrawn claims against one another concerning the patents, Deerfield, Ill.-based Pregis said.
It was last summer that Pregis filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Sealed Air in U.S. District Court for Delaware.
Pregis, in court records filed last year, alleged Sealed Air sold products to Home Depot and other retailers that infringed on its patents.
