Wittmann Battenfeld Inc. has leased a 2,200-square-foot suite in Corona, Calif., and is establishing a West Coast technical center.
The facility is “a full-service support center for all of our product lines,” said Sonny Morneault, national sales manager with the U.S. business in Torrington, Conn. “The strategic central location will help us support our clients.”
For several years, an office in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., gave the company a West Coast presence, but the new location in southern California's Riverside County does more. A Midwest technical center is located in South Elgin, Ill.
“We have a reception area, four offices and an open area for manufacturing equipment with operational work cells for demonstrations and mold trials and training,” Morneault said.
The site will have some presses in an inventory “to meet quick-ship requirements” with an emphasis on small tonnage units popular in the region, he noted. Robots, auxiliary systems, some finished goods and spare parts will be available.
Three regional sales managers overseeing business segments from the Corona location are Richard Ford for injection molding machines, Jason Cornell for robotic and automation systems and Edgar Sanchez for auxiliary material handling equipment.
Parent firm Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH is based in Vienna, Austria.
