Toshiba Machine Co. America, a unit of Japanese builder of injection presses and die casting machines, Toshiba Machine Co. Ltd., has opened its first service center in Mexico.
The facility is housed at the Nippon Express Guanajuato Logistics Center, located in central Mexico in Puerto Interior, Silao, Guanajuato. It will offer service and support to customers of injection molding machinery and die casting machines throughout Mexico.
Manufacturing is growing quickly in the region, company officials said. They announced the new center Aug. 31.
“This is a thriving market for us,” said Toshiba Machine General Manager Tom McKevitt. “With our new service center, we can pursue additional injection molding business in this fast-growing Mexican market and back it up with the support that Toshiba is known for providing to its customers.”
A key is having locally based service technicians, according to McKevitt. “They have the in-depth knowledge and technical expertise needed to quickly, easily help our injection molding and die casting machinery customers maximize the productivity of their systems,” he said.
The Nippon Express Guanajuato Logistics Center is a business and industrial hub located near major manufacturers and accessible to transportation.
Key employees in the Mexico service center include branch manager Robert Kinzel; Jun Agatsuma, assistant branch manager and die casting service engineer; Carlos Alberto Alvarado Rico, die casting field service representative, and Hector Ivan Calderon Garcia, the injection molding field service representative.
