SCHAUMBURG, ILL. — Donald Hylton, a thermoforming consultant and university researcher, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Plastics Engineers Thermoforming Division.
Division members presented him the award Sept. 16 at a dinner held during the Thermoforming Conference in Schaumburg.
Hylton has a unique understanding of the “science of thermoforming,” said Mark Strachan, chairman of the division.
Hylton is a consultant to thermoforming with McConnell Co. As a research scientist at Clark Atlanta University, he does research in thermoforming and extrusion technology. he has given many lectures and written technical papers on thermoforming. He also wrote a book, “Understanding Plastics Testing.”
