A slippery packaging coating speeds up dispensing viscous liquids from plastic bottles.
LiquiGlide Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., claims its LiquiGlide permanent coating is non-toxic and creates a very thin coating that helps viscous liquids slide over the packaging's walls.
The coating combines a textured solid layer with a liquid that gets trapped in the solid layer and eases contents flow. The product's origins are the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. LiquiGlide Inc. is a startup company formed around the discovery.
