Christian Renners is leaving injection molding press manufacturer Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH, the company announced Nov. 21.
Renners was chief sales officer and a member of the managing board for the Schwaig, Germany-based company.
Sumitomo Demag announced the news in a news release. The company said it was Renners' decision. Renners “is leaving the company on his own request to pursue new professional challenges,” the company said.
Renners joined Sumitomo Demag as director of sales, service and marketing in 2007. Last year he was appointed chief sales officer.
Tetsuya Okamura, CEO of Sumitomo Demag and senior vice president of parent company Sumitomo Heavy Industries in Japan, also will take over the CSO position. Andreas Schramm continues as chief technical officer.
“We would like to thank him for his excellence contribution to the company,” Okamura said. “We wish Mr. Renners all the best for his professional future.”
Renners could not be reached for comment.
