PolyOne Corp. has launched a line of new liquid colorants for PET packaging in personal care and cosmetic products.
The new colors “mimic the darkness of deep space and interstellar hues, helping brand owners to create a sense of cosmic mystery and stylish sophistication,” officials with Avon Lake, Ohio-based PolyOne said in a news release. The firm introduced the colors at the recent Pack Expo event in Chicago.
The colors are available as ColorMatrix-brand liquid colorants made by PolyOne. The firm's InVisiO Color Inspirations 2015 New Frontier palette inspired the new colors, officials said.
In the release, PolyOne ColorMatrix marketing director Gary Fielding said that “distinctive and dynamic packaging color effects play a significant role in creating a quality perception for consumers.”
“These multi-dimensional colorants give designers and product managers the potential to enhance brand equity and gain a competitive edge on store shelves,” he added.
PolyOne ranks as North America's largest compounder and concentrate maker. The firm posted global sales of $3.8 billion in 2013.
