Materials firm Americhem Inc. has acquired color compounder LTL Color Compounders Inc.
No purchase price was disclosed in the deal, which was announced by Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based Americhem on Dec. 3.
LTL is based in Morrisville, Pa., operating plants there and in Dongguan, China, making color compounds based primarily on engineering resins. Markets served by LTL — which opened in 1990 — include medical, automotive, electronics and aerospace.
Americhem — a leading supplier of color and additive concentrates — now will run LTL in combination with Infinity Compounding, a business it acquired in late 2012. That combined unit will operate as Infinity LTL Engineered Compounds. The unit will be led by Carlos Carreno, who founded Infinity and who has continued to lead the business after the acquisition.
“Both [Infinity and LTL] are technology-based, customer service-oriented and dedicated to providing customized solutions,” Carreno said in a news release. He added that the new unit will be able to combine Infinity's expertise in internally lubricated and electrically conductive compounds with LTL's color and polymer alloy technology.
