Italian blow molding machinery maker Plastiblow srl is launching North American sales.
Frank Varuzza, sales development manager, said Plastiblow is working with Hamilton Plastic Systems Ltd. in Mississauga, Ontario, to handle sales, parts and service in the United States and Canada. Hamilton Plastic Systems has a showroom.
Plastiblow's makes only all-electric extrusion blow molding machines, single- and double-station machines with clamping forces ranging from 3-30 tons.
Varuzza said the blow molders have a good price/performance ratio. At NPE 2015, Plastiblow will demonstrate a new double-station press, model PB5E-DL in a four-by-four cavity setup.
Varuzza, a 30-plus year blow molding machinery veteran in Italy, said Plastiblow has sold four or five presses in North America over the years, for medical molding.
“Plastiblow has never really concentrated any real efforts to selling machines to the North American market,” he said. The company will target packaging.
Plastiblow is based in Corsico, near Milan. According to Varuzza, the company started selling extrusion blow molding machines in the early 1970s, when it was part of a diverse plastics machinery group. Plastiblow began making hybrid machines in the late 1990s, then transitioned into all-electric blow molders.
