Automotive giant International Automotive Components has expanded its Alabama operations with a new 126,000-square-foot facility located adjacent to its existing Anniston manufacturing operation. The expansion brings IAC's total production capacity in Anniston to 262,000 square feet. IAC celebrated its grand opening Dec. 9.
The expanded facility will include injection and compression molding and other processes, a news release indicates. Luxembourg-headquartered IAC produces automotive components including door panels, flooring, instrument panels and interior trim. Its North American headquarters are located in Southfield, Mich.
IAC also expects to add about 350 to its staff in Anniston, according to the release.
IAC is the second-largest injection molder in North America, with 2013 injection molding sales of $1.6 billion in the region, according to the latest Plastics News ranking. Its global 2013 sales were $5.2 billion.
