Compounding firm McCann Plastics will spend $1.2 million on an expansion project that will create 15 new jobs at its plant in Green, Ohio.
The 20,000-square-foot expansion will allow North Canton, Ohio-based McCann to increase its output at the Green plant, according to an article posted Dec. 9 on the website of the Canton Repository newspaper. On that same date, Green City Council approved a five-year, 50 percent tax abatement for the project, the article said.
The McCann family started the firm in 1989. They started a separate firm — color concentrates maker McCann Color Inc. — in North Canton in 1998. McCann Color then was sold to materials firm A. Schulman Inc. in 2010.
