Motion Controls Robotics Inc. is expanding its Fremont, Ohio, facility to keep pace with a surge in demand for automation.
Motion Controls supplies equipment to plastics and several other industries. The firm said the Robotic Industries Association reported a 35 percent increase in the number of robots sold in the first nine months of 2014. The association estimates there are 230,000 robots in manufacturing and material handling processes across the United States.
Motion Controls is adding 4,000 square feet to its 57,000-square-foot Fremont plant and expanding capabilities with a new machining center and clean robots-servicing area. The expansion will help delivery times and product quality, explained Motion Controls President Scott Lang in a news release. The project will be done in March 2015, when the company will mark its 20th year of operation.
The firm is a Fanuc authorized integrator of robotic systems.
