Macchi SpA, the Italian manufacturer of blown film machines, will display a Coexflex five-layer line at NPE 2015, at Booth 6563.
Macchi bills it as the POD concept, for polyolefin-dedicated. It produces thinner and better films at a high output rate. The NPE show machine will run shrink film 60 inches wide, two mils thick.
The Coexflex also can run flexible packaging and do web converting.
The full line comes with die rings as large as 12 inches, and it can run 1,500 pounds per hour. Five-layer structures give barrier properties to film, but they also allow new production approaches that can increase output, such as running high melt strength polymers in the external layers, Macchi officials said.
Macchi, based in Venegono Interfiore, Italy, also will introduce other technologies to the U.S. market in Orlando, including a new triple-lip Carbonfiber cooling and internal bubble cooling antiblock arrangement.
Macchi also will show the new controller interface, the EastControl 4profinet.
