Mexico produced auto parts worth $82 billion in 2014, 7 percent up on 2013, and the industry expects the value of production to grow another 5 percent this year, according to Oscar Albín, president of national suppliers association INA (Industria Nacional de Autopartes AC).
Albín revealed the statistics after INA and the Scandinavian Automotive Supplier Association (FKG) signed a cooperation agreement Feb. 6. As part of the deal, the Mexican association will help suppliers from Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway to establish manufacturing operations in Mexico.
