Chinese injection press maker Borch Machinery Co. Ltd. has brought back its longtime chairman Zhu Kangjian, in another shakeup of the company's top management.
The change came four months after the company named Hans Chen (Qianhan), previously vice chairman and head of North American operations, as its new chairman on Sept. 27.
Zhu Kangjian, who had been chairman for eight years, was voted out of the board and became “honorary chairman” instead, according to Borch's announcement in October.
Zhu has also served as the chairman of the Beijing-based trade group the China Plastics Machinery Industry Association since 2013.
In a November interview with Plastics News, Chen said Zhu was “stepping aside voluntarily after building the company.”
The October announcement highlighted the global background and experience Chen and his new CEO Joe Tang (Xiaojun) brought into top management, and stated the “international, young and professional” new team would provide more momentum to internationalize the company.
On Jan. 27, the company posted a rather brief but formal announcement on company letterhead, listing the members of its new board of directors and board of supervisors.
Zhu is now back in the office as Borch's chairman. Yang Yongbo continues to serve as vice chairman. Chen and Tang are not among the listed names.
Chen and Tang were featured in a Borch release in early Jan., accompanying local government officials in a “safe production” tour to the company's plant. The release said officials were satisfied and complimentary about the company.
On Feb 9, Borch said its management reviewed the company's 2014 marketing and R&D efforts at a year-end (Chinese New Year) banquet that hosted its entire staff on Feb. 6. The company repeatedly stressed the importance of “unitedness” of the staff in its new endeavors.
Borch is slated to exhibit at NPE 2015 in Orlando, Fla., at Booth S21073.
