Premier Material Concepts is boosting its production capacity by over 25 percent, adding a new state-of-the-art coextrusion line.
Eric Hausserman, PMC's Vice President of PMC Products and Service Management, said that the line was operational Jan. 18, and allows it much more versatility. The Welex extruder combination gives the company the ability to produce a variety of multi-layer sheet products. It is also equipped with enhanced diagnostics and a crane system for quick roll changes.
He said that the new line expands its ability to deal with engineered materials, such as ABS, thermoplastic polyolefin, acrylic and polycarbonate/ABS.
PMC is a division of Rowmark LLC and is a leading supplier to the thermoforming industry. It provides custom plastic extruded sheet and roll products, laminated sheets and pigmented/decorative films.
The latest line is the fifth for PMC. It was installed in what was previously rack space near what it calls “The Beast” — an extrusion system that it installed in 2011. That system produces one, two and three-ply sheets of up to 120 inches in width.
PMC is headquartered in a 90,000-square-foot facility in Findlay, Ohio. The building was expanded by 20,000 square feet for the installation of “The Beast.”
