Milacron LLC has announced a major expansion in the Czech Republic, investing more than $18 million to build an 118,00-square-foot plant in Policka and machines and adding a total of about 43,000 square feet to its Tirad custom mold base plant in Šašovice.
The facilities serve all of Europe.
The $12.5 million new Uniloy plant is set to open this month.
“The new facility in Policka not only provides us with the flexibility and room to manufacture our complete range of blow molding machinery technologies, it also represents a major step forward in our plans to become a global supplier of blow molding machinery systems,” said Ron Krisanda, chief operating officer and president of advanced plastic processing technologies.
The expansion in Šašovice, opening in April, includes both an 11,000-square-foot expansion to the current Tirad mold base plant, plus a new 32,300-square-foot distribution center. The investment at this site comes to more than $5.7 million.
Cincinnati-based Milacron bought Czech Republic-based Tirad s.r.o. in 2014. Milacron also makes DME mold bases and components.
